CANTERBURY GRAIN & PRODUCE. (F rom Canterbury Times.') A fairly active market has been experienced during the week, and sales have been frequent. The weather still being favourable, deliveries continue on an extensive scale. Wheat.—The value of wheat lias in no way altered. Tuscan of good quality readity commands 3s 8d to 3s 9d. Hunter’s white pearl and velvet chaff are quoted at 3s fid to 3s 7d. For inferior grades a reduction of Id to 2d has to be accepted. Chick quality is in fair supply at 2s to 2s fid. Oats arc steady at Is fid to Is 7d for milling kinds. Feed are saleable at Is 3d to Is fid. Barley has in no way altered, and prices remain about the same. Best samples are worth 3s to 3s fid, with very little offering. Good malting, 2s fid to 2s 9d, the bulk brought forward being of this class. Flour is in fair request at £9 to £lO. Potatoes.—Values are quoted at 30s, with only an average enquiry as yet. Grass Seed,—Rye grass is wanted, and high rates rule ; 3s 9d to 4s is offered for first-class lots requiring no rc-dressing # Cocksfoot —Large quantities are still held, and prices stand at 2|d to 2*d ; badly cleaned seed, 2£d to 24d. Dairy Produce is unaltered. CANTERBURY STOCK REPORT. (From Canterbury Times.') There was a good attendance al the Addington Yards on Wednesday, when 7633 sheep and 280 head of cattle were yarded. Sheer.—Some prime drafts changed hands freely, but second quality was dull of sale, several lots being turned out unsold. Prime cross-breds realised from 12s to 14s ; medium ditto, from 9s 3d to 10s fid ; merinos, 10s. We quote mutton at 2d per lb. Young stores sold freely at late ratesCattle. —There was only a small supply of fat cattle brought forward. Although the quality was good, there was rather a dull sale. We quote beef at 16s fid per lOOlbs. The supply of stores was small ; a few changed hands at late rates, the remained being turned out unsold.
