AUCKLAND MAEKETS. Mr Alfred Buckland reports ; On the 4th March fodder was in better request than of late ; prices ranged from 2s 6cl to 4s 3d the cwt. Horse stock offered in full number, and met with a fair demand ; the class most in request continue to be active medium draft ; prices were without alteration. At the hide and skin sale, on Tuesday, hides ranged from 2£d to 3£d the lb ; sheepskins, Is 6d to Is 9d each ; lamb’s wool, 6|d and 7d the lb ; tallow, 19s the cwt. At Waiuku, on Saturday last, the cattle yarded were generally young, and found ready buyers at satisfactory prices among the settlers in the neighbourhood. At Pukekohe, on Monday, a smaller than usual number of cattle were yarded. Cows were comparatively unsaleable, but all young stock were quitted at current values. At Remuera, on Thursday, dairy cows, near calving, were in greater number than usual, and better enquiry than for some weeks. Prices for useful cows ranged from £8 to £lO 10s each. Fat cattle wore yarded in usual number ; 147 sold, and of excellent quality. Prices were steady throughout the sale, varying with quality from 21s to 23s the lG)lbs. Sheep were in moderate supply and slightly better worth prices varying from 2j-d to 2-jd the lb. Store pigs were numerous and in brisk enquiry, at extreme prices.
