NO ELIGIBLE TENDERS having been received, fresh Separate Tenders are hereby invited, on an amended specification, as to width and thickness of Gravel , to which the attention of Contractors is drawn , for GRAVELLING or METALLING (if required) Contracts Nos. 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5, on the Mountain Road, County Patea, They will be received at the Public Works Office, New Plymouth, until NOON on TUESDAY, 18th January, 1881, and must be addressed to the Hon. Minister for Public Works, and marked outside “ Tenders for Gravelling or Metalling.” Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Wellington, Wanganui, Carlyle, and New Plymouth ; Post Office, Hawera; and at the Telegraph Office, Normanby. All Tenders must be accompanied by a deposit cheque for the amount named in the specifications; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twentyone days, and to be in favor of the Receiver-General's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. N.B.—Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a supply of gravel as near the work as possible ; and each tenderer must state the least number of teams he intends to employ on the work.
