PATEA TOWN HALL CO.

WINDING UP. The annual general meeting of shareholders was held on Thursday, at the Company’s office, to receive report of directors and appoint directors to fill vacancies. There were present Messrs Milroy (in the chair), Christie, H. E. P. Adams, Beamish, and Dale. There having been no report prepared hy directors, the manager, Mr Dale, submitted the following statement of the company’s position : “The assets consist of Section No. 1, Block No 36, Carlyle, containing one rood, having a frontage of 125 links toTaranakiroad, and a frontage of 200 links to Oxford-street, with Town Hall building erected thereon. A portion of the section, 30 feet by 132 feet, with a right of way from Oxford-street, is leased to Messrs Mahoney and Co. for an unexpired term of 184 years, at a ground rental of £ls 10s. The property is subject to a mortgage of £350, bearing interest at 11 per cent., repayable on December 31st, 1882. The amount of cash to the credit of the company is £153 14s lid, and debts outstanding amount to £3O 11s od,and the amount of liabilities against this account are interest to December 31st, 1880, £l9 ss, and manager’s salary for two years. During the past year the rents receivable amount to £B6 12s, and the expenditure

for the same period (which included interest to Dec. 31st, I860,) was £6514511 d. The company, in addition to the assets mentioned above, possess hall fittings to the estimated value of £35.” The report was received. The Chairman moved, in accordance with notice, tliat ttic number of directors be reduced from 7 to 5, owing to the difficulty of getting a quorum at any meeting. Tin’s was agreed to. W. Ailchison and H. E. P. Adams were then elected directors, to fill vacancies. Mr Edward C. Horner was appointed auditor of accounts. Mr Christie then proposed, in accordance with notice, that the company be wound up voluntarily. Mr Milroy seconded. The motion was adopted without dissent or discussion. Mr H. F. Christie was appointed liquidator, and the business terminated.
