WAVERLEY.
UItANCJI OFFICE OF THE MAIL. Friday morning Mr F. R. Jackson’s Salk yesterday was well attended, but there was only a small supply of cattle and these brought fair average prices. Christmas time brings little appearance of festivity as yet, if we except a grand display of first-class beef and mutton. The quality is always good, and it is only the quantity which gives occasion for remark ; but small events must be chronicled from small places if space is to bo kept filled by a local correspondent, unless ho were able to chronicle the latest scandal without fear of annihilation from one or other of the parlies concerned.
