LAND SALES.

\VAIM ATE PLAINS. BRANCH OFFICE OF THE MAIL. Hawera, Thursday. The sale of casli sections on the Waimatc Plains took place to-day, commencing punctually at eleven o’clock. The Land Commissioner, Mr Wray, mounted the rostrum and first called attention to the timber reserves laid off by the Government in the bush, and gave notice of the sale of certain township and suburban lots next week to cash and deferred payment selectors. A gentleman asked him whether it is a fact that the land is liable for a rate of Is an acre for the Now Plymouth Harbor, to which he replied that such was the fact.
