Half brother to the famous Marquis (sire of Painter, Newminstcr, and Grand Prix) who won St. Loger, Two Thousand, and ran Caractacus to a head for the Derby, Waimea, dam of Puriri, was the greatest stud matron in New Zealand, her progeny having won more races and produced more winners. Her descendants were Manuka, Toi Toi (dam Kakapo and Hornby), Harekcke (dam Korari), Totara, Papapa, Kauri, Eama Kama, and Keveller. Good paddock at Waitotara. By tho above it will be seen that President has a pedigree second to no horse in tho North Island; and his stock are allowed by competent judges to be equal to any tiling in the Wanganui District, and are all very docile and splendid workers.
