Mysterious. —Some excitement lias been caused at Portsmouth by statements made by a women to the police, which seemed to justify suspicion of an attempt to blow up Government House. The woman stated that she was met one evening by a man and a woman, who gave her a box and asked her to undertake to deliver it into the hands of Prince Edward of Saxe Weimar. She declined to undertake the errand unless told what was in the box. A handkerchief was thereupon thrust over her mouth, rendering her insensible, and when she came to herself the man and woman were gone. The police have been making enquiries, but have not as yet succeeded in getting any trace of the parlies said to be concerned.
