The Committee of Management of St Andrew’s Church held their ordinary' monthly meeting on Saturday evening, 27th instant, in the scssionbouse, and after the busines was finished, they repaired to the manse to perform a vciy interesting ceremony. When the usual greetings were over Mr Swinbourne, secretary' of committee, rose and said : It was bis pleasing duty, on behalf of the congregation, to present to Miss Allsworth an offering, not as payment, but as an acknowledgment of the interest she bad taken in, and the punctuality with which she had performed the duties of organist for the choir, and in so doing lie wished to bear testimony' to the cordiality that had always existed between her and himself as Precentor. Ho then placed in her hands a purse containing twenty guineas. The Rev R. J. Allswortb briefly returned thanks for his daughter, and expressed the pleasure and the unexpected surprise tho presentation gave. lie was sure that his daughter’s services had been a labor of love. He also bore testimony to the valuable services rendered by Mr Swinbourn and the choir at all times in the musical department of the church.
