Wanganui . —Contest very close. W. H. Watt 141, Henry Nathan 122. Mr Watt is re-elected by a majority of 19. Wellington. —Exciting contest, four candidates, two running very close. Result; W. Hutchison 561, Andrew Young, coach proprietor, 475, Dr Diver 191, T. Dwan, auctioneer, 161. Mr Hutchison is re-elected by a majority of 86 over the next highest. Grahamstown. Wilkinson, proprietor of the Thames Advertiser, 326, Brassey, solicitor, 250. Colonel Fraser, late R.M., retired from the contest. Dunedin. —Ross 872, Fish 688. There was an immense crowd at the declaration of the poll. Cuiustciiurch. —A good deal of excitement over the election, which resulted thus :—Gapes 558, Ayres 439, Lyttelton. —Allwright 197, Webb, 108. Invercargill. —Johnston 246, Hatch 115, Kingsland 110. Hokitika. —Mr Learmouth elected. Kumara. —O’Hagan returned by a large majority. Gisroene. —Mr Porter elected after a close contest. Westport. —Mr Muuro re-elected.
