RECEIVED LAST NIGHT. ( Reuter's Despatches to the Mail.) CHAMPION SCULLING. GREAT MATCH IN LONDON. London, 15 th, Great interest was taken in the race for the championship to-day. The attendance of the public was enormous, crowds lining the banks of the river along the course. The betting at the start was greatly in favor of Hanlau, who was in splendid form. The two men went off with a good start, and in smooth water ; Hanlan commencing with 28, and Trickctt with 31 strokes a minute. They kept together for half-a-mile, pulling evenly ; but afterwards Haulau took the lead, and played with Trickett during the last three miles, winning the race easily by fully two lengths. Time of race —26 minutes 12 seconds. TURKEY’S TROUBLES. Constantinople, 16th. A Turkish official, while engaged reading an order for the surrender of Dulcigno to Montenegro, was shot. MOBBED TO DEATH. Madrid, 16th. Several French monks landing at Borcelona and Alicante have been mobbed to death by the populace. BOERS REBELLING. Capetown, 16tb. The Boors are rebelling, and troops have been ordered to Fursteuburg to quell the outbreak.
