The whole coat of the trip of Mr Gladstone after his illness was defrayed by Mr Donald Currie and his partner, owners of the yacht used for the purpose. The amount was very large. There was generally a tug in attendance to convey telegrams to and from the shore. The contrast between Lord Beaconstield and jMr Gladstone is in nothing more marked than in the manner of costume. Mr Gladstone’s get-up is as neglige as Lord Beaconsfield’s is recherche.
