NO ELIGIBLE Tenders having been received, fresh Separate Tenders arc hereby. invited, on an amended to which the attention of contractors is drawn, for Gravelling or Metalling (if required) Contracts Nos. 1, 2, 8, 4, and D, on the Mountain road, County Patea ; and Contracts Nos, 1, 2, 3, 5, and G, on the Mountain road, County of Taranaki. They will be received at the Public Works Office, New Plymouth, until noon on Wednesday. 17th November, 1880, and must be addressed to the Hon. Minister for Public Works, and marked outside, “ Tenders for Gravelling or Metalling.” Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Wellington, Wanganui, Carlyle, and New Plymouth; Post-office, Hawera : and at the Telegraph-office, Normanby. All tenders must be accompanied by a deposit cheque for the amount named in the specifications ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to be in favor of the lieceiver-General’s Deposit Account only , and not to bearer or order. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. N.B.—Parties tendering will be required to prospect for and find a supply of gravel as near the work as possible ; and each tenderer must state the least number of teams he intends to employ on the work ; not less than four teams, however, shall bo employed on any one contract. The Receiver of Land Revenue requests that intending purchasers will observe that all payments to him must be made in Cash, Post Office Order, or Bank Draft, payable to the “ Receiver of Land Revenue, New Plymouth.” Cheques cannot be received.
