AUCKLAND STOCK. (Latest Report.") Mr Buckland reports that at Remucra, dairy cattle were fairly numerous, but the greatest number inferior, cither from age or ill-bred. The few good animals were eagerly competed for, and all met with a good demand. Store cattle were more numerous than usual. Well-bred heifers in good demand, but other descriptions dull of sale. Fat cattle in average supply ; 125 head sold ; light weights, provincialfatted, were steady, at from 27s to 29s ; ship-borne, from 22s to 24s the 1001 bs. Fat sheep, in fair supply, met with a steady sale, at from 2jjd to 3d the lb. Lambs, short of requirements, and at higher values, brought from 12s to IBs each A number of pigs from the coast, medium weight and coarse quality, sold better than usual. Fat calves were plentiful, but maintained their values. Messrs Hunter and Nolan’s report:— Horses.—The improvement noted last week has continued, and more than the usual number have changdd hands. We quote hacks from £G 15s to £l7 ; lightbarness horses, £ls to £3O ; medium draught, £22 to £25. Cattle.—The supply has been good of nearly all descriptions. A steady demand has existed, but vendors who expected higher rates were disappointed. Both at Newmarket and Waiuku there was a large muster of dairy and store stock, which was disposed of at races current for the last fortnight, a few pens at tne latter place being held over. There was a good muster of fat beasts, and some of them, locally fed, were in prime condition, and were well competed for, ; but there was little alteration in value. Sheep.—l here was an increased supply, and competition was not quite so keen as on the previous week. Best wethers in wool, from 20s 9d to 27s ; inferior, from Iss 9d to 9s; shorn sheep, from 12s to 15s 9d. Lambs were rather scarce and small, the highest price obtained being 13s. Pigs were scarce, and the demand brisk. CANTERBURY STOCK. (Latest Report.) There was an average attendance at the Addington Yards on Wednesday, and the bidding was brisk throughout, mainly owing to the somewhat small supply of most lines of stock. The numbers yarded were—sheep, 3518 ; cattle, 344 ; pigs, 58. Sheep. —The sheep offered comprised a larger portion than usual of fat shorn cross-breds. Extra prime quality lots of these realised 13s Gd ; good do and prime, from 10s Gd to 11s 3d. Cross-breds in their wool sold at 17s Gd for prime lots, and 14s Gd to 15s 9d for good do. There

were no fat merinos worth quoting. Stores were in good demand, but comparatively speaking none wore offered. Lambs of prime quality sold at from 11s Gd, others from 6s Gd to 10s. Cattle.— There was only a small entry of good beef cattle, and competition was accordingly keen We quote prime quality at 23s per 1001b ; second quality, 21s 6d. There was a slightly improved enquiry for stores, and prices accordingly ranged higher than last week. Best three-year-olds brought £6 7s Gd ; two-year-olds, £4 10s ; yearlings, £3 5s ; and well-grown calves, eight and nine months old, £2 9s. Pigs were cleared at prices ranging up to £3.
