Fire at New Plymouth ( Telegram from our Correspondent.) Monday Night. Mr Halse’s house was burnt yesterday afternoon. Neither building nor furniture was insured. The fire is supposed to have originated from a little child setting a light to some paper in the store. No one was in the house at the time, the servant being in the garden and the family away. Mr Halse is a heavy loser, many valuable gifts and family relics being destroyed, besides valuable furniture which was fearfully damaged in the removal. The Mayor and Inspector Bullen worked very pluckily.
