WOOL AND SHEEPSKINS. Mr Lang (for the New Zealand Loan andMcrcantilc Agency Company, Limited) reports tbe following os the result of tiic auction held in Wellington : Sheepskins.— Merino, in bales, 74 to 8d per lb ; crossbred, do 7fd per lb ; merino, loose, 64to7fd per lb ; crossbred do, coarse, 7fd per lb ; crossbred, superior, 74d to Bfd per lb. Wool.— Merino, in the groase, 9fd per lb ; superior fine crossbred, KM to 10fd per lb ; pieces and locks, 4fpnr lb. There was a fair attendance and spirited competition throughout, resulting in a satisfactory clearance of the lots offered. WELLINGTON COMMERCIAL. (N. Z. Mail, October 30.) The past week lias shown a slight improvement in business, in consequence of tho Rakaia discharging quickly, and many of the lines in her being very low in stock. She is now almost discharged and has commenced to take in her outward cargo, having 351 bales wool and skins, and GO packages tallow aboard. We have no failure to report, and. money is in full supply for discount and rates are unaltered, there is also a lot of money seeking investment on good freehold securities. DUNEDIN STOCK. (.Latest Report.') The supply being small at sales to-day, bidding showed an improvement on last week’s rates. Stores,L2, to £4, per head; prime beef, 25s perlOOlbs.
