Entires. THIS TUOUOUGII-BRED HORSE COCKSURE WILL stand this season and run with his marcs in the well-grassed paddock of Mr Alex. Dickie, at Spring Bank, Waverley. Terms—Three guineas each marc ; two or more mares as per agreement. Cocksure —A brown horse, bred by Henry Redwood, Esq., in 1872, Got by the imported horse Towton, out of Certainty. Certainty the dam of Dead Shot, sire of Mata, the New Zealand champion racehorse of the day. Certainty is by 11 Barbiorc, her dam Chance by Sir Hercules, out of Finesse by Toss, out of Flirt by Mariner (Arab). Towton (own brother to the Peer), bred in England in 1850, got by Melbourne out of Cinzelli by Touchstone, Brocade by Pantaloon. Cinzelli the winner of the 2000 guineas, and dam of Towton, the Peer, and Marquis. Cocksure is rising 8 years old ; as a 3-year-old, won the Hutt Park Stakes and Auckland Handicap, and was winning the Auckland Cup easy when ho ran off the course, and was never raced afterwards.
