CANTERBURY GRAIN & PRODUCE. {Latest ItejHirl.') The record of the week’s business in (lie grain market has been an exceedingly quiet one. Transactions in most of the lines have been few in number, and comparatively restricted in amount. ■■'Wheat.—The value of best milling stands at 4s to 4s 2d, and extra prime quality commands a little over these prices ; business, however, has been confined to a few odd lots. Oats. —The same quiet lone prevails, and buyers arc still indilfeiit. Bright heavy milling. Is 7d to Jsßd; best iced lots, Is 4d to Is sd, and inferior sorts, Is Id to Is 3d. Bareev.—A few sales of fair mailing have transpired at 2s Gd to 2s Od. Potatoes. —Prices remain purely nominal, with every prospect of a considerable quantity going to waste through the absence of a payable outlet. Ft.oun.—Millers report a quiet though steady demand for Hour at £lO IDs to £ll. Cl bass Seed. —Ryegrass has not had much attention outside the filling of merchants’ orders.

CANTERBURY STOCK. (Latest Report.) On Wednesday, tlioio was a large attendance at the Addington sale. The stock yarded comprised 4482 sheep, 720 cattle, and 52 pigs. Skeki*. There was rather a small supply of fat sheep, and the majority of these were shorn cross-breds, the best of which realised 12s, good do. from 10s to 11s 3d. Merinos in the wool sol cl up to 13s Gd. We quote mutton at l ; , ! d per lb shorn, and 2;,' in the wool. Stores were in large supply. Merino owes, with lambs at foot, realised Os ; cross-bred do 13s Gd. A large number of lambs were brought forward, and prime lots sold up to 12s, others at 5s Gd to Os each. Catti.e. —Fat cattle were considerably in excess of requirements, and therefore did not command high rates. Prime bullocks realised up to TO 10s : good do. T8 5s up to T8 17s Gd. Wo quote prime beef at 22s Gd per 100 lb. Of stores there was the largest entry and best all-round quality of the season. Two to three-year-olds sold well, at from £4 15s to £5 10s.
