AUCKLAND STOCK. (Latest Report.') C.vrn.E, SiiEEi', &c. —Messrs Hunter and Nolan report that there was a steady supply and an average one. They quote cattle at from 27s to 30s per lOOlhs.; no alteration in former week’s quotation for dairy and store stock; sheep in average supply, and priccsbad au upward tendency; wethers sold at from H)s to 20s Gd.; shorn, los to 17s 3d.; lambs were plentiful, and sold at 8s 9d to IGs Gd.; very few pigs yarded, and no alteration in previous week’s prices. Mr Buckland reports that on Monday (October 18) at the sale held at Pokcno about 70 cattle were yarded ; bidding was dull, although the greater number were eventually sold at current values. —At Drnry sale from 500 to 600 head vrore yarded ; there was a numerous attendance of buyers, and brisk bidding was obtained throughout the sale ; prices wevo higher than those ruling at the last Hamuera sale, NEW PLYMOUTH STOCK. (Latest Report.) Messrs Bauchope and King report that at their Waiwakaiho there was a good attendance, and bidding was much brisker than at last sale. A large quantity of cattle were yarded, of which the following were sold : 13 calves from £1 to £2 5s ; 2G yearlings from £1 17s Gd to £2 5s ; 5 18-months-old, £3 to £3 10s ; 7 clean 3-ycar-old-steers, £5 5s ; 1 steer, £4 10s ; G small springing heifers at £4 2s Gd, £3 5s and £3 2s Gd ; 2 nice springing heifers at £5 17s Gd ; 4 ditto at £5 ; 2 heifers and calves, £6 12s Gd and £5 12s Gd ; 1 cow and calf, £G 17s Gd ; 2 cows, £G and £5 ss; 2 shy cows, £3 17s Gd and £3 10s; 1 bullock, £0; 1 ditto, £8 ; 1 pair steers, £l2 10s ; 1 pair bullocks, £23 ; 1 ditto, £2O ; 1 horse, £3 ; colt, £1 10s. WELLINGTON COMMERCIAL, (Latest Report.) The week past lias exhibited a decided improvement in business, country orders coming in freel.f, stocks in consequence are rather scarce. The stocks in the Raknin, which vessel came alongside the wharf on Thursday last, arc badly wanted The s.s. Hero on her last trip from Sydney, landed a large shipment of candles, sugar, tea, wool-packs which had run short in onr market. No failures of any moment have token place since onr last. Bank rates are unchanged. In laat week’s report wc referred to the fact that a storekeeper had made a first trip with stores to Terawhiti, he reports there are about 33 men there who appear to be making good wages, and lie has made arrangements for a weekly visit. Wool
is coming in freely from the East Coast, and wc arc informed that the lambing season is now over, and the; increase is above the average. AUCKLAND RETAIL THICKS. (Corrected By latest report.)
