THE JUDICATURE COMMISSION.
It is understood that the members of the Royal Commission appointed a month or two ago to investigate and report on the existing system of judicature and legal proceeding, will not meet altogether earlier than January next, as the avocations of tho Judges and Resident Magistrates preclude frequent meetings. The members residing in the different districts will therefore hold local meetings, and exchange tho result of their deliberations, so that when they finally meet in Wellington they all may be thoroughly versed in one another’s views. We believe that at their January meeting in Wellington they will draft a bill to give effect to the conclusions they may arrive at as to the reforms required, such bill to be introduced into Parliament next session.— Post.
