CANTERBURY GRAIN &PRODUCE. {Latent Report.') Wheat. —Good mi 11 ingquality is saleable at 4s to 4s 2d, and extra lots at a shade over these rates. Second-class realises 3s 6d to 3s 10d. A few sales of chick have been made at 2s to 2s od, according to quality. Oats. —The market presents much the same aspect, and prices remain about the same. The feeling, if anything, is quieter and buyers do not show much eagerness. Bright heavy milling arc quoted at Is “d to Isßl. Best feed, Is 4d to Is 5d ; and inferior grades, Is Id to Is 3d. Baulky. —Quotations arc without alteration. Good malting; 2s Gd to 2s lOd, and anything approaching first-class is saleable up to 3s 6d. Fair sales of seed lots have transpired at Is Gd to Is Od. Potatoes. —The season may be looked on as almost closed. They are completely neglected, and prices arc purely nominal. Flo UK has had fair attention at £lO 10s toLll, according to brand. Dairy Produce. —Butter is offering plentifully, though sellers and buyers arc not agreed as to values-54d to Gd is about the quotation. Cheese, 4d, Hams and bacon unchanged.

P. R. JACKSON’S REPORT. Fortnightly report, October 20th : —The usual two sales have taken place during the past fortnight; the one at Hawera was well-attended with buyers, bidding was very brisk, and capital prices were obtained for all that were offered ; when taking into consideration the largo number of cattle entered, the sale must be classed as satisfactory to vendors. At the yards today a large entry of cattle was made, prices were maintained throughout the sale, and all the pens were cleared. Sheep were in email supply, and sold at fair values. tPlie sale of the Fordcll estate caused a good deal of interest, a great number of settlors and others attending. The property was started at 4*B per acre ; the bidding ran quickly up to fill, and at that price it was knocked down to .Air Henry Sargcant. The house and land situated in Victoria Avenue was passed in, the price offered, did not reach the vendor’s reserve. Cattle. —At Hawera, SGG head were yarded—Store bid locks, three-year-old, £6 10s ; 2-ycar-olds, £4 10s ; cows, ,1M ; cows and calves, £4 los ; heifers, IPS l()s ; yearlings, £'2 10s ; to £2 los. At the yards to-day, ‘622 head of cattle came forward —Fat cows, To 2s Gd to TO Ins : bullocks, L77s 6d ; three year-old store bullocks, L 5 los to LG 7s Gd; two-year-olds, L 4 10s ; cows and calves, L 4 15s; milch cows, L 6 to L 7 12s 6d ; yearlings, L2 2s to L 3. Shew. — 370 were penned — Wethers in wool, 13s 9d to 14s 3d ; store wethers, 12s Gd ; old ewes Gs.
