PATEA WEST ROAD BOARD.
The Board met on Thursday, at Kakaramea. Present: Messrs Chapman, (chairman), Ball, Hamilton, Hurley, Paterson, and Mcßae.
Letter read from Messrs Ginger Bros, re state of road to their land at Manutahi, Letter from Mr F. Bead requesting the Board to fall about 35 chains of bush on Wil ford-road. Letter from Commissioner of Crown Lands .at Taranaki, stating that all matters connected with land in the Patoa District had been referred to Mr C. A, Wray, the new Commissioner.
Resolved that Messrs Ginger Bros, be informed that the Board have no funds to make the road required. Resolved that Mr Read be allowed to get the bush felled on Wilford-road at a cost not exceeding 5s per chaiu, payment to bo made when moneys are received from Government on account of lands sold on deferred payments.
Resolved that Messrs Hamilton and Ball be appointed a committee to lay off works on Manawnpou, Taumaha, and Ginger roads ; also Messrs Hurley and Mcßae, for works on upper Ball-road, lower Ball-road, Hurstbousc-road, and Joll-road ; and Messrs Chapman and Paterson for works on Garsed-road, upper Kakaramea-road, and Hukatere-road,
Resolved that Messrs James and others be informed that the Board considers it only fair that a portion of the Secretary’s salary should be paid out of deferred payment grants.
