CANTERBURY STOCK. (.Latest Report.') The weekly sale at the Addington Yards Wednesday attracted a large number of buyers and others interested in stock matters, but business generally was quieter than at the previous sale. The stock yarded comprised 4,284 sheep, 501 cattle, and 133 pigs

Sheep. —There was a good proportion of prime quality fat sheep among the lots offered, but bidding was tame throughout. The best cross-breds jealised 16s 9d ; good do. 15s 6d. Merinos, of prime quality, sold up to 14s ; good do, 11s 6d to 12s ; medium quality, 10s ; shorn cross-breds realised 10s. We quote mutton, shorn, at TJd to I£, and unshorn at 2£d. Stores were in small supply, with an active

demand. Inferior ewes, with small per centage of lambs, sold at 10s ; hoggets at from 9s 9d to 11s 6d. Cattle. —The quality of the fat cattle offered was exceedingly good, yet a drop of 2s 6d per lOOlbs was experienced as compared with last week. We quote beef at 20s per 1001b for prime heavy weights, light weights of prime quality a shade higher. Several exceedingly good lines of stores were offered, and considering the price of beef) they moved off well.
