Mr Freeman R. Jackson’s fortnightly stock report says : —The yards at Hawera on Friday were fairty filled with cattle ; the bidding was very brisk, and all the pens were cleared at the auction, with the exception of one of bullocks, which were placed immediately afterwards. Prices rule for all description of stock at late rates. I had a large entry of cattle at the yards on the 22nd, which were all disposed of at or after the auction. Beef made 20s. Sheep were not quite so brisk a few pens having to be turned out unsold. Cattle. —At Haw-era, 157, bead were in the yards—Store bullocks, 3-year-old, made £6 10s; fat cows, £6 5s to £6 12s 6d ; yeai lings, £2 5s to £3. At tbe St. Hill street yards, 301 head were yarded—Fat cows, £5 15s to £8 ; store bullocks, £6 ; steers, £4 5s to £4 12s 6cl; cows, £3 10s to £4 10s ; yearlings, £2 12s 6d. Sheep. —7l3 were penned at the yards to-day—Fat sheep, 11s 6d to 12s 9d ; stores, 8s to 10s 3d ; hoggets, 4s Od. Pigs.—Porkers, 20s to 355. Horses. —Hacks, £8 to £l2 ; weeds and screws, 30s to 70s. Exports. —Bo cattle, 1100 sheep.
