WRITTEN Tenders will be received at this office up to noon on Wednesday, the 20th October, 1880, for the above contract. They must be addressed to the Hon. the Minister for Public Works, Wellington, and marked outside “ Tender for Urenui Road Bridge Contract.” Plans and specifications may be seen at the Public Works* Offices, New Plymouth, Foxton, Wanganui, Carlyle, and Wellington. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received if presented at any Telegraph Office by noon of the same date, provided that written tenders in due form are lodged at a District or Resident Engineer’s Office by the same hour, and accompanied by a cheque on some bank in the town where the tender is lodged ; such cheque to be specially marked by a banker as good for twenty-one days, and to he in favor of the Receiver-General’v Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. Crown Land’s Office, Wellington, 9th September, 1880. IT is hereby notified that 127 Sections of Land in the abovenamed locality will be offered for sale on deferred and immediate payments. The sections on deferred payments will be open for application on Monday, the 25th October, at the Land Offices, Carlyle and Hawcra. Sections for which there are more than one application will be submitted to auction, between the applicants only, on Thursday, the 28th October, at Hawcra. The price of land on deferred payments will be £5 an acre. Five shillings per acre will have to be deposited on making application. Each applicant will only be allowed to apply for one section on deferred payments. Applicants for land on deferred payments may send their applications and deposits, with statutory declaration as by “The Land Act, 1877,” through post to the Land Office, Carlyle, Patea, to arrive on or before the 25th October. Envelopes should be marked “ Application for deferred payment land, Waimate Survey District.” The land on immediate payments will be sold by public auction, open to all bidders, on Friday, 29th October, at Hawcra. Upset price, £4 an acre. On immediate payment there arc 88 sections, ranging from 50 acres to 100 acres each. On deferred payments there are 89 sections, ranging from 50 acres to 80 acres each. Colored lithograph plans may bo seen at all the Laud Offices of the Colony on and after the 15th instant. Information as to the mode of making applications for land on deferred payments, and the necessary forms, may be had from any of the Commissioners of Crown Lands. W.
