Town Destroyed toy Earthquake. Sydney, Monday. The E. and A.M. s.s, Brisbane has arrived at Cooktown from Singapore,and brings news that a second shock of earthquake occurred on July 20th, and completed the destruction of Manilla. The damage is very great. The inhabitants were panic-stricken, but the loss of life was not great. The •whole city oscillated, and the principal buildings are in ruins, the debris blocking the streets. Business is at a standstill. PRESS PROSECUTION. Sydney, Monday. The case in the Supreme Court has commenced againstthe proprietors of the Excning News for alleged contempt of Court, in commenting on Judge Windoyer’s summing up in an action for libel.
