General Roberts passed through Ghuznec unopposed, but reports that Mahomed Hassim was hovering on his flank during the march. General Phayrc started with a relief force for Candaliar, from Khojak. NEGLECT TO RESCUE CREW. Melbourne, Monday. Captain Thomson, of the barque Trochrague, has been sentenced to three months’ imprisonment for neglecting to rescue the crew ol a catamaran in the Java seas, while on a voyage to this port. VICTORIA POLITICS. Melbourne, Monday. Petitions have been lodged against the election of Dr Madden for Sandridgc, and Gillies for Rodney. THE CRICKET TOUR. London, 21st. The cricket match between the Australians and 18 of Scarborough was resumed to-day. The Australians won by 90 runs. LONDON WOOL SALES. London, 21st. At the wool sale to-day, 10,700 bales were offered, making a total of 48,500 catalogued since opening. The tone of the sale was animated. Cross-brcds are still a half-penny to a penny lower than last sales.
