HOW THE PREMIER GOT ON.
The Premier the other day read one of the unemployed of Wellington a lesson that he will do well to bear in mind in the future. It was elicited from the individual in question, whose name is Scobic, that he was engaged to come to the colony fifteen months ago as coachman to a lady, by whom he was nominated. He was engaged at 30s a Aveek, Avith a house to live in, but left the situation some time since because he Avas required to draw coals and do other Avork, AAdiich he did not think a coachman should be called upon to perform. “Dear me,” said the Premier, “ I carted coals and other things Avhen I came to the colony, and I Avas never the Averse off for it. When you come to a ncAv country you should not be particular about dmving coals. I should have been no better off than you if I had been particular about such matters.
