FINAL REPORT
ON THE PLAINS. OFFER TO TE WHITE (Telegram from our Correspondent.) Wellington, Monday. I understand that the final report of the West Coast Commission recommends that about 238,000 be given back to natives, and that the Government should make such offer to Tc Whiti. This statement, I hear, was at once wired to Te Whiti, but the Prophet’s answer is not yet known. Only 100,000 acres are loft available for European settlers. The House of Representatives being weary, it is probable the concession will bo made for want of well-informed opposition.
