Civilised Maoris. —The Ngatiapa tribe are (gays the Advocate), from their constant comunication with the whites, becoming thoroughly amenable in their customs. One or two among their number are subscribers to the Advocate, there being several young Maoris who read and write English fluently, and who translate the items of news to the others. One of thosej a son of Utiku, has been articled to Mr O. L. Maclean. He appears to be an intelligent lad, and will, we hope, be a worthy repretentative of his race.
