POLITICAL GOSSIP.
Prom our Wellington Correspondent. Wednesday Night. REDISTRIBUTION. The doom of the Redistribution of Scats Bill is now sealed. The measure is too largo to be pressed through this session, and is certain to be abandoned in a short time. BILLS ABANDONED. It is rumored that the Ministry will have to abandon several other measures, there being no sufficient time remaining to complete their programme of business in the session. Several import-amt subJects remain for discussion in, addition to the Bills; and time is being wasted rapidly by excessive talk on the part of Opposition members, whose object is to embarrass the Government, and bring about a barren session. A DEADLOCK. A long and dreary discussion is going on nnent the estimates, nearly two clays being exhausted upon one item for education. The order paper is completely crammed with notices of motion, of bills, and of questions to Ministers. The Lower House is in the thick of its work, and very little real business has been done up to the present.
