MORE PRISONERS.
EIGHT brought in YESTERDAY. DEMONSTRATION OF WOMEN. (, Special Telegram to the .Mail.) New Plymouth, Monday Night, Intelligence was received in town to-day that eight additional prisoners were in charge of constables at the camp. The arrest of four prisoners was made on Sunday. When the usual inspection of fences was made this morning (Monday), by the constabulary, four other natives were found engaged in fencing across the road, stud were immediately arrested. They surrendered without the least opposition, and will ■ probably bo brought into town to-night, and shipped on board the Hinemoa for Wellington. The Hinemoa is at Opunake to-day, and will most likely make her appearance here to-morrow morning. When the native prisoners were being brought into town on, Saturday morning, they were followed by a large number of native women, who were crying and wildly gesticulating, and vowing vengeance against the Government for robbing them of their husbands and relatives. The natives generally have assumed a sulky demeanour, and show a great aversion to the constabulary. .
