Native Lands Court.
Patea, Friday. The Court concluded the business yesterday. The Kaitangiwhenua block, the most important case before the Court, was found not to have been properly gazetted as to the boundaries, and Judge Heaphy dismissed the case—equivalent to a non-suit. It will have to be again gazetted, and the natives intend, we believe, to apply for the Court to sit again at Patea. Judge Heaphy goes to-day to Wanganui, to open the Court there on Monday. Mr Ward, barrister, who appeared for certain objecting natives, pointed out yesterday that the eastern boundary was not accurately described in the Gazette ; and that according to the evidence of Mr Teesdale, surveyor from Gisborne, the block was wrongly marked on the survey plan to the extent of four miles overlapping one way. Major Wilson, for the native 1 claimants, then elected to
have the case adjourned to Wanganui; but the Judge said that on the whole fact's he. had no option but to dismiss the case. This was done.
