(Telegram from our Correspondent.) Friday Evening. . Railway Compensation Claims.— Mr H. M. Brewer, Land Purchase Commisioncr of the Public Works Department, accompanied by Major Brown, has been here to-day, and after a considerable amount of talk, succeeded in settling nil claims made by the natives for land taken for railway purposes in this district. It is understood the claims have been settled in a manner highly satisfactory to the Government.
