Rumored Troubles on the Plains.
THE PARIHAKA MEETING.
( Telegram from our Correspondent.) Hawera, Monday Evening. Natives fenced in some burial grounds about Parihaka, in consequence of which the road had to be deviated. This appears to have given rise to rumors of an exaggerated character. It Was bruited about that the natives were again ploughing on the Plains. It was said the Minister for Native Affairs was hurrying up from Wellington to be on the scene of disturbance. I believe Mr Bryce did leave Wellington on pressing representations of some kind. I hear that he reached New Plymouth on Sunday, and is now at Ngakumikumi, but we must wait for definite news as to his operations. Te Whiti, at the Parihaka meeting, said that in six months his man a would be gone, and that all who did not come to Parihaka would be dumbfonndered, whatever that may mean.
