Concession on Property Tax.
(Special from our Correspondent.) Wellington, Monday' Night. The Premier .met a caucus of the Government supporters this afternoon, and announced that concessions would be made on the property Tax. He quite recognised that it was objectionable in details, and these would be modified. The minimum of £SOO would be fixed at a lower figure. Personal effect's would not be taxed ; and the vexatious details which a man is now required to declare' on oath would be done: away :with. The- Premier .hoped these modifications would give satisfaction. The caucus broke up much pleased with the change in the situation, which had looked so threatening only a few hours before.
