Land Board Meeting.

(Special from our Correspondent.) New Plymouth, Monday. The Land Board sat to-day. Leave of absence for 10 days was given to Mr Barlcyman, the Patea member. The application of Richard Holiday for section 73, block 1, Ngaire district, for cash, was granted. The Chief Surveyor reported to the Board that no more surveys for settlement purposes had been completed during the month. The survey of the south part of Stratford had been commenced, but it had to be stopped owing to the surveyors engaged on it being required to survey the reserves on the Plains. The survey of a village near Mangawhoro had been delayed from the same cause ; and as the department had to find surveyors for the road party, other surveys had been also delayed. The Chief Surveyor considered that there is no serious inconvenience involved, as the land being surveyed will not be sold until much nearer land abutting on the Mountain-road is taken up.
