REQUISITION To William Dale , Esq., Chairman of the County Council of Pafea, WE, the undersigned Ratepayers and Electois of Carlyle and Neighborhood, do request that you will be good enough to convene a PUBLIC MEETING, to be held in Carlyle on or about TUESDAY, Ist June, for the consideration of public questions of urgent importance to this district, namely,— 1. The desirability of allotting a separate Parliamentary Representative to the County of Patea, under the Redistribution of Seats Bill promised by the Government; 2. The necessity of accelerating the completion of the Main Line of Railway through this district, and the early completion of the Carlyle Branch Line; 3. The vital importance to this district of a speedy settlement of the Waimate Plains, on a basis at once just to the Colonial public and equitable to the Maori occupants or claimants ; 4. The commercial claims of this County to have the Patea River declared a port of entry for shipping; And to adopt one or more petitions to Parliament for the granting of these several requirements.
