TELEGRAMS.
REQUISITION' TO. THE’ PREMIER. Invercargill, May 22. ■ The Liberal Association have received a telegram from the lion Mr Hall in reply to a requisition, expressing regret that he cannot find time to address the electors of Southland previous to the meeting of Parliament. DEFAULTING- BANKRUPT. Dunedin, May 22. : John S. Capstick, who has recently been in business as hotel-keeper, and had filed In’s schedule at Wanganui, was charged upon a warrant issued at'that place with having failed to deliver up to the trustees of his estate his bank-book and cash-book. Capstick is to appear on the 29th inst at Wanganui. In asking for bail., prisoner mentioned that his books were destroyed by the fire which burned his premises. Bail allowed, prisoner in £IOO and two sureties of £SO each.
