The Railway Department does not pledge itself to the despatch or arrival of the Trains at the exact limes notified in the above Tables, and in the event of any circumstances arising either during or prior to the journey being made which may render it impossible or inexpedient for a Train to proceed, will return the Fares paid, but docs not undertake to forward the passengers. Jjuggage,— Each person is allowed to take 1121bs of personal luggage free (not including merchandise of any kind), and for every otilbs abovo-thc weight, for every 30 miles or fraction of oO miles, the charge will be One Shilling. No luggage wid bo allowed to be taken into the Carriages, unless of such a size that it can be placed under the seat without inconvenience to other passengers. Passengers are strongly recommended to have their Names and the Station to which they are proceeding distinctly marked on their Luggage, and to satisfy themselves that it is placed on th Train, as the Railway Department will not b responsible unless it is booked and paid for. Passengers can be booked at Stations only on condition that there is room in the Train. Children under three years of age travel free; above three and under fourteen years of age, half-price. Horses, carriages, &c.—The Railway Department docs not undertake to forward Horses and Carriages by an particular Train ; but when sent, they must be at the Forwarding Station half-an-hour before the departure of the Train. The owners of Horses must provide means for securing them in the horsebox, and the Railway Department null not be accountable .for any injuries sustained through their breaking loose or otherwise, nor will it undertake to carry unbroken or vicious Horses. At Country Stations requisitions for horseboxes or carriage-trucks must be made the day before they arc wanted. Dogs must be provided with chains, or other sufficient means of seeming them. They will not be allowed in Carriages, and the sender must obtain a ticket, to be given up before the end of the journey, before the dog is delivered. Return or Periodical Tickets will not be I available for Special or Excursion Trains, except the Ordinary Time Table is suspended, Return Tickets for distances not exceeding 25 miles are available on the day of issue only ; for each additional 25 miles or fraction thereof, one day extra is allowed. Ordinary Single Tickets issued on Saturdays and Sundays are available as Return Tickets until the end of the following Monday, when re-dated as above. All Tickets used for Return later than the day of issue must be presented at the Ticket Window, and re-dated before the Passenger enter the Train for the Return Journey. Any person neglecting to get his Ticket re-dated will have to pay the Ordinary Fare. Special Notice..—To ensure despatch, Parcels, Extra Luggage, and Dogs must lie at the Station Fifteen Minutes before advertised time of departure of Train, STAR AND GARTER HOTEL, CcBA-STREET. JT. WILKINS has much pleasure e in informing his friends and general public that he has purchased the lease of the above well-known Hotel, and that he is now ready to receive visitors and boarders.
