They must be addressed to the Lion, the Minister Tor Public Works, and rnarkod outside " Tender for Gravelling.” Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Wellington, Wanganui, Hawera, ami New Plymouth ; also at the Post Office, Carlyle ; Telegraph Office, Norman by ; and at the Armed Constabulary Camp at Opunake. Telegraphic tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received aa above if presented at any Telegraph. Office by NOON ofthe same date,, provided that written tenders in due form are dodged at any of the above named offices by the same hour, and accompanied by a deposit cheque on some Bank in the town where the tender is lodged for the amount named in the specifications; such cheque to be specially marked by a Banker as good for twenty-one days, and to he in favor of the liecciverGcneral's Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. N.B.—Parties tendering will be required to prospect for, and find, a supply of gravel as near the work as possible; and each tenderer must state the least number ot teams he intends to employ on the work; not loss than ton teams, however, shall bo employed on any one contract.
