Mil FREEMAN R. JACKSON’S FORTNIGHTLY STOCK EE PORT. Wanganui, March 10. I HAVE no improvement in prices of stock to report since my last. The sales have been fairly attended, but the bidding- on the whole dull, and without spirit. At the ram fair the quality of rams offered was not so good as one should expect. A large number of old useless animals came forward, only to be sent to the b.nler. A pen of pure-bred Leice..'ters bred by -dr Ctasg, of Wuiroa, commanded alien:; m. am! sold pretty uv 1. A pen a.s-> •>! Eioeo n-, bred by Mr St no, were mn -li admired. Messrs Owen & L. ?ld>ridge s Lincolns wore turned on: unsold, as the p;ices did iml come up to the owners’ expectations. The sheep sh »\v• -«1 the care id b. ecdmg «>f tlu-ir owners, and were much thought of. At liawera, sheep were in demand, and met a good market. Cattle were at low values, and difficult to sell. At the yards to-day, the attendance was small, owing to the Regatta. Prices for beef was nearly 20s the lUOlbs. Sheep were dull, but all sold after the auction. Horses were almost imsa’eable. A pen of unbroken draught colts found purchasers, ami 1 placed some hacks at the quotations below. Cattle. —At liawera, IJO head were yarded—Fat Cows, £5 ids ; steers, £5 ss; cighteen-montho-old steers, £2 17a 0 i to £3 ; yearlings, of inferior description, 20s. At the yards to-day, only 50 head came forward Huliocks, £7 to AS 5s ; cows, £5 to f5 10s ; young cattle. 7s (id.
