TARANAKI LAND BOARD.
At the meeting of the above Board on Monday last, a letter Was read from Mill. B. Pearce, asking the Board to allow him an extension of time for six months for paying the instalment on his deferred payment allotment. He stated that he htd the same grounds for applying as Messrs Gane Bros., who were allowed this concession—Mr Crompton said that the case of Gane Bros, was not to he considered as a precedent.—The Hanger said that nearly all the section was cleared.—Mr. Standish thought that a person who had paid a high price for land should have some concession allowed him.—Mr Kelly moved, “ That Mr Pearce not having stated sufficient reasons for granting his application, the Board declines at present to accede to his request.”—Seconded by Mr Syme, and carried.Mr Standish' inbved, “ That the unsold snburban sections at Stratford be offered for sale on Wednesday, the 17th of March next.”—Mr Kelly seconded tbo rhotibn, which wfis carried. An application wds received from John West, asking the Board to allow him a further extension of time for non-residence on his deferred payment section No. 28, block 12, Hawera.—The Secretary was instructed to write that the matter had already been dealt with by the Board.
