Tenders for Gravelling Public Works Office, Wellington, January 26, 1880. TENDERS will be received at the Public Works Office, HAWERA, until noon on Monday, 2nd February, 1880, for GRAVELLING . Three Contracts, of half a mile each, on the Main Line of Road west of the Waingongoro Rive)-, and commencing at the bridge. Tenders must be addressed to the Hon the Minister for Public Works, and marked outside, u Tenders for Gravelling.” Specifications and conditions may be seen at the Public Works Offices, Wellington, Wanganui, Hawera, and New Plymouth ; also at the Post Office, Carlyle ; Telegraph Office, Norman by ; and at the Armed Constabulary Camp, at Opunake. Telegraphic Tenders, similarly addressed and marked, will be received as above, if presented at any Telegraph Office by noon on the same date, provided that written- tenders in due form are lodged at any of the above named offices by the same hour, and accompanied by a deposit cheque on some Rank in the town where the tender is lodged for the amount Mamed in the specifications, such cheque, to be specially marked by a banker as good for uventyono days, and to be in favor of the Receiver- U eneral’s .Deposit Account only, and not to bearer or order. The lowest or any tender will not necessarily be accepted. N.B.—The above works are the first of a series of contracts which will extend northwards of the Waingongoro River. Parties tendering will be required to prospect for, and find, a supply of gravel as near (lie woik as possible, and each tenderer must state the least number of teams ho intends to employ on the work : not less than six teams, however, shall bo employed on any one contract.
