fßeuter’s Telegrams.l LONDON. Januaiy 22. A large meeting of Home Rulers Ims been held, at which, on the motion of Mr O’Donoughue, a vote of sympathy was passed with tiie Irish peasantry in their distress, and with their insistence to landlords. A resolution was adopted at the same meeting, binding Home Rulers to maintain an independent attitude in Parliament. Tiie Daily News to-day publishes a telegram from Afghanistan, stating that Mahomed Jan has gathered a large force, and is now threatening the British position in and around Cabul. MELBOURNE. January 23. There was an unexampled scene in the Assembly last night. Strangers wore again excluded, and during that time a violent personal attack was made by Fcrgnsson on Macantyre.
