Dr Ebrnrd, of Nimes, states that ho lias for many years treated all his cases of sciatica and neuralgia pains with an im* promised apparatus, consisting merely of a iiat iron and vinegar, two things that will he found in every house. The iron is heated until sufficiently hot to vaporise the vinegar, and is then covered with some woollen fah'-ic, which is moistened with vinegar, and the apparatus is applied at once to the painful spot. The application may he repeated two or three times a day. Dr Ebrard states that as a rule the pain disappears in twenty-four hours, and recover}’ ensues at once.
