The r rarnnaki Herald of Saturday last says :—We have to record a melancholy accident resulting in the death of an infant eighteen mont hs old, belonging to Mr E. U. Morgan, of Urontii. The child was sitting at the tea-table with its parents, in the house of Mr Young, Dovon-st root, on Thursday evening at about 5 p.m. Airs Morgan got up from the table and left the child standing on the chair, with its hands resting on the table, and immodia-. tcly after the child upset a cup of hot tea over itself, scalding its face and right side severely. Mrs Morgan applied flour to the scalded parts, and the child was put to bed. During the night it became very ill, and Dr O’Carroll was called, but ins services were of no avail, as tho child died about five minutes after his arrival The doctor states that death was caused by the severe shock to the system sustained by the scalding. It was not considered necessary to hold an inquest.
