To Stand the Season at the Farm of the undersigned, at Manutahi. Tlk l Well-known Draught Entire VICTORY. TTTCTORY is a bright. Bay, 8 years V old, and stands 1(1 hands 3 inches high. Has splendid bone, and a, fine temper. He was bred by Mr Wells, of Canterbury, and took two first prizes as a two-year-old at Blenheim. Victory is by Royal Conqueror, ont of Mr Wells’ prize mare Blossom. Royal Conqueror took first prize at the United All-England and Highland Societies Agricultural Show at Battersea, when a two-year-old, and was purchased by li. Redwood, Esq., for £7OO, and imported to Yew Zealand. Blossom (Victory’s dam) look several first prizes as best brood mare in Canterbury, Victory bas proved himself a sure foal getter, and his stock are so wellknown throughout the district, that any long comment would be superfluous : it need only be added that they will compare favorably with any horses on the Coast, and as workers cannot be beaten. A threc-year-oid filly, got by Victory, and exhibited by T. Mason, Esq., at the Wellington Show. 1877, took first prize. Terms—£2 10s each mare. The Imported Clydesdale Stallion. ‘sro'smG scoTcaaasAS?. wOUNG SCOTCHMAN is a beautiful X dark bay on short legs, rising I years old, with plenty of bone and hair; stands 16 hands 0 inches hign, and is by Scotchman (imported from Scotland;. Scotchman was bred by Mr Kay, of Hazlefieid (near Castle Douglas), sire Mr Muirs (of Loch Fergus) Champion, who gained a prize at the Highland Society’s Show at Kelso, when 2 years old ; the Castle Douglas Prize when 5 years old ; in 1369 a prize of 40 sovs, to travel in Wigtonshire ; and in 1870 the same piize again. Champion, by Champion, imported to Australia, and sold for £525 to go to New Zealand. Champion was got by that celebrated sire Fanner, the property of the late Robert Anderson, Esq., Drmnore. Farmer was sire to Vidor, Prince Charlie, Blacklock, and many more valuable horses. Farmer’s sire, Glnncor, gained the Highland Society’s 2nd prize when 4years old, and was afterwards sold for a large sum. Scotchman took two first prizes at Bbincls of Galloway Society Show, held at. Stranraer ; and also took first prize at Kyucton, Victoria, every year, as the purest Clydesdale stallion exhibited. Young Scotchman is out of Jess, hy Lothian Tam (imported); grand dam Gipsy (imported) hy Old Champion of Scotland. Young Scotchman took first prize at Kym-ton, Victoria, as a 1-year old (a silver cup valued at a £2O) ; also took first prize of £3O as a 2-ycar old at the same place. Young Scotchman will beat Waverley on Tuesdays ; at our Farm, Kakararaea, on Thursdays ; and at Hawera on Saturdays. Terms—Single Mares, £5 ; a reduction of 10s each will ho made on three or more marcs ; go am nice, £6; groom’s fee, 2s 6d —to be paid on first service. All care taken, but no responsibility.
