To Stand the Season at the Farm of the undersigned, at Manutahi. Til? Well-known Draught Entire VICTORY. TTTCTORY is a bright Bay, 8 years V old. and stands 16 hands 3 inches high. Has splendid bone, and a fine temper. He was bred by Mr Wells, of Canterbury, and took two first prizes as a two-year-old at Blenheim. Victory is by Royal Conqueror, out of Mr Wells’ prize mare Blossom. Royal Conqueror took first prize at the United All-England »nd Highland Societies Agricultural Show at Battersea, when a two-year-old, and was purchased by H. Redwood, Esq., for £7OO. and imported to New Zealand. Blossom (Victory’s dam) took several first prizes as best brood mare in Canterbury. Victory has proved himself a sure foal getter, and his stock are so wellknown throughout the district, that any long comment, would be superfluous ; it need only be added that they will compare favorably with any horses on the Coast, and as workers cannot be beaten. A threo-yoar-oid filly, got by Victory, and exhibited by T. Mason, Esq., at the Wellington Show, 1877, took first prize. Terms—£2 IDs each mare. The Imported Clydesdale k'talUon. SCOTCBHAST. yOUNG SCOTCHMAN is a beautiful X dark bay on short legs, rising 4 years old, with plenty of bone and hair; stands 16 bauds 3 inches hign,and is by Scotchman (imported from Scotland). Scotchman was bred by Mr Ray, of Hnzletield (near Castle Douglas), sire. Mr Muir’s (of Loch Fergus) Champion, who gained a prize at the Highland Society’s Show at Kelso, when 2 years old ; the Castle Douglas Prize when 5 years old; in 1869 a prize of 40 sovs, to travel in Wigtonshire ; and in 1870 the same prize again. Champion, by Champion, imported to Australia, and sold for £525 to go to New Zealand. Champion was got by that celebrated sire Farmer, the property of the late Robert Anderson. Esq., Drumore. Farmer was sire to Victor, Prince Charlie, Blackbck, and ninny more valuable horses. Farmer's sire, Glaucor, gained the Highland Society’s 2nd prize .when 4 years old, and was afterwards sold for a largo sum. Scotchman took two first prizes at Rbinda of Galloway Society Show, held at Stranraer ; and also took first prize at Kyneton, Victoria, every year, as the purest Clydesdale- stallion exhibited. Young Scotchman is out of Jess, by Lothian Tam (imported); grand dam Gipsy (imported) by Old Champion of Scotland. You no Scotchman took first prize at Kyneton, Victoria, as a, 1-year old (a silver cup valued at a £20); also took first prize of £3O as a 2-year old at the same place, Youno Scotchman will beat Waverley on Tuesdays ; at our Farm, Kakaramoa, on Thursdays; and at Hawera on Saturdays. Terms—Single Marcs, £5 ; a reduction of 10s each will tie made on throe or more mares; guarantee, £6; groom’s fee, 2s 6d—to be paid on first service. All care taken, but no responsibility.
