Wellington - , December 2. Report of Standing Orders Committee reported that the House should nut sit after 12 of 12.3U any night. Report will be considered to-morrow’. Mr Dick gave notice to move that the House sit on Saturdays for the remainder of session. In reply to a question, the Premier said it would be a great advantage if the Governor could be induced to visit the centres of population, such as Dunedin and Chrislchurb, but Government could not see their way to make the necessary provisions for accommodation. In reply to Mr George, Mr Bryce said he did not believe Hiroki had been seen, as alleged. There was no reward offered for his capture. Government could not at present dispense with the services of the large force now on the West Coast, but hoped to do so at an early date. Resolutions were reported from Committee of Supply. On the subject of recommittal of item in estimates, expenses of members, which had been reduced 10 per cent., several members urged that the reduction having been fairly discussed when made', the discussion should not now be're-opened'. Mr Byke supported the re-committal or item, and deprecated the cheap patriotism sought after by those who opposed the teconsidefation of the subject. He considered members very ib-paid. After some further discussion the item was re-conmiitted, the House going into Supply, and the amount was restored to original item on Estimates by 37 against 2 b. Imprest Supply Bill for £250,000, for salaries and expenses to 30lh June, was passed. Land Bill re-committed, and certain amendments made. Interrupted at 6.30.
